RYSO Orchestra Manager
Renton Community Center (Carco Theatre) Renton, WA
Renton Youth Symphony Orchestra is a non-profit corporation whose mission is to provide a challenging musical experience to King County area youth in addition to their school music program. The program is offered through the City of Renton’s Community Services Department.

Job Summary:
The RYSO Orchestra Manager coordinates the administrative activities of the senior and junior orchestras as a liaison to the Foundation Board, Music Director and Debut Orchestra Conductor, students and Recreation Coordinator for the City of Renton.
The Orchestra Manager must be a highly organized, diplomatic individual, who utilizes strong interpersonal and problem solving skills to carry out managerial and administrative duties.
The Orchestra Manager reports to the President of the Foundation Board.

Required Duties include:
Work closely with the Foundation Board, Music Director, Debut Orchestra Conductor, and Recreation Coordinator
Attend all Monday rehearsals and performances
Develop annual orchestra schedule with the Recreation Coordinator
Music librarian (manage music procurement, music folders, sheet music and music library)
Prepare semi-annual rosters of RYSO students and coaches
Track and monitor student orchestra attendance
Organize, coordinate and monitor rehearsals, sectionals, special events and concerts including the movement of equipment and music to other scheduled locations
Develop and design a variety of communications that include letters to parents and students, press releases for concerts and orchestra activities, and survey assessment instruments for statistical data
Coordinate, schedule and coach orchestra sectionals
Coordinate, schedule adjudicators, recruit students, and assist in placing new students in the junior and senior orchestras
Other related duties as requested

Education and Training Requirements:
Bachelor degree in fine arts: arts management, music education, business, or related field

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Previous experience working with school-aged children in a musical setting.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to work under stress while handling multiple simultaneous priorities.
Intermediate – Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Products
Experience in exercising independent judgment to prioritize and manage work.
Demonstrated experience with excellent written and oral communication skills.
