POSITION POSTING

The Moses Lake School District is seeking applications for an Elementary Music Teacher

QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid Washington State Teacher certification.
Major in music education or K-12 music endorsement.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the district may find appropriate and acceptable.

DEMONSTRATED ABILITIES:
To communicate effectively with students, parent's community, and staff.
Bilingual preferred.
To have a positive attitude and work cooperatively with others in a team approach to planning a working with site-based decisions and management operations.
To work effectively with all children with varying academic, emotional social, and physical needs.
To work primarily with children in the elementary grades, K-5.
Ability to teach both vocal and instrumental music.
Have experience with, knowledge of, skill in, and support of shared decision-making.
Have experience, knowledge, and skill working with Washington State's Educational Reform.
Ability to support the building academic goals for reading, math, and writing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach music at the elementary level with a wide range of student abilities using appropriate activities for all children.
Be willing to participate actively and cooperatively with others on the staff in the site-based management process.
Maintain a positive classroom environment conducive to participation and learning.
Teach both primary and intermediate children.
Must have excellent attendance.
Other duties as assigned.
