Position: Music Teacher – Isom Elementary

? Current Washington State Teacher Certification and proper endorsements
? Possess energy and enthusiasm
? Work collaboratively with other district educators
? Successful experience working with elementary school students
? Demonstration of positive experience teaming and working with others
? Successful experience using effective teaching strategies for students who speak English as their second language
? Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and evaluate effective instructional activities in the areas of reading, written
language and mathematics to meet student needs and district goals
? Knowledge of Common Core Standards
? Bilingual candidates preferred
? Design activities/lessons to meet state standards
? Teaches skills in music understanding/appreciation, harmony, explorations in music and choral music
? Plans/executes a balanced music program and organizes class time so that preparation, rehearsal and instruction can be
accomplished with the allotted time
? Evaluates each student’s musical growth, performance, and musical understanding. Assesses each individual’s contribution
to the performance of the group
? Create and maintain a positive and orderly learning condition in the music environment
? Plan and participate in concerts
? Ensure developmentally appropriate skills and activities are implemented
Work Year: 2017-18 school year
Hours: 7 hours per day; Monday through Friday
Starting Date: August 28, 2017
FTE: 1.0 FTE
Salary: Per negotiated LEA contract
