ASSOCIATE MEMBERS

You are cordially invited to become an Associate Member of the Washington Music Educators Association. WMEA offers Associate Memberships to four types of organizations. NOTE: Please select and complete the form, print it out and email, fax or mail it to WMEA attention Associate Membership. If you have any questions, please contact the WMEA office.

Businesses (Any type of company or organization that is not listed below.)

Higher Education (An institution of higher education, which must be an accredited, degree-granting institution.)

K-12 schools (Public or private comprehensive schools, including music booster organizations and ASBs affiliated with those schools.)

Associations (Non-profit associations which include educators/music educators as their primary membership, such as Orff & Kodaly chapters, IAJE, NBA, ASTA, ACDA.) 

Introductory Membership (If your organization has never been an associate member, it qualifies to join at the special introductory rate! Your first year of membership will only cost $99!)

 

All Associate Member organizations receive the following benefits:

  • Access to the Members Only section on the WMEA website, including the online Directory of Music Educators in the State of Washington.                               

  • A subscription to Voice of Washington Music Educators, WMEA’s official journal, and the WMEA newsletter, Poco Voce.

  • A 5% discount on advertising in any and all WMEA publications, including Voice.

  • Use of the WMEA associate member logo in all advertising. 

  • A WMEA Associate Member decal, which should proudly be displayed at your place of business.

  • Recognition as an associate member in each issue of Voice and event programs.

  • A link to your website from www.wmea.org.

  • The ability to promote your organization via WMEA's Facebook page.

  • WMEA-sponsored, free clock hour services.

  • A discount off of the regular price of an exhibit booth at any WMEA/NAfME-NW conferences.

  • A discount off of the regular price of an industry "showcase." "Showcase" proposals must be submitted online by the session proposal closing date of each year and are subject to approval.

In addition, the following benefits are specific to each type of associate member:

Colleges & Universities K-12 Schools Associations 
  • Receive reduced membership dues.
  • Receive reduced membership dues.
  • Students in grades 5-12 will have their WMEA All-State application fees waived.
  • NOTE: To have the application fees waived, the school's membership must be current before any auditions are submitted. Fees will not be reimbursed to schools that join after the auditions have been submitted.  

 

  • Receive one (1) complimentary industry "showcase" at any WMEA/NAfME-NW conference.

Becoming an Associate Member gives all the rights and privileges of Active Members except for receipt of NAfME materials, the right to vote and hold office and the qualification of students for WMEA All-State and NAfME All-Northwest performing groups.

Associate Members assist in maintaining an open communication between WMEA Active Members and music dealers, educational institutions, musical organizations, clubs, other supportive groups and individuals having an involved interest in music education.

Associate Members are regarded by the WMEA Executive Board and the general membership as an elite group that extends beyond their businesses and services to being active in supporting music education.
