WMEA 2027 State Conference Proposals

February 11-15, 2026
Yakima, Washington

Proposal Deadline is May 15, 2026

Instructions

  • Please read through the form before you enter all the required information. This information will be used in the conference program if your session is chosen. You will have the opportunity to edit it before the conference.
  • The session presenter is responsible for correctly spelling names, institutions, and resources.
  • Choose the curricular area below as close to your subject as possible. Companies should list their sessions as showcases. If you don’t see your area, choose “Other.”
  • Sessions are screened by curricular experts assigned by the WMEA Board of Directors. While we understand the desire for feedback, WMEA doesn’t provide feedback in the selection process.
  • Selection criteria are based on meeting the conference’s vision so that some quality sessions with topics outside that vision might not be selected.
  • We encourage you to consider the wide array of teaching communities that can be reached through well-rounded approaches to music education. We especially want to connect attendees to new thinking by lifting up underrepresented subjects, communities, and voices through music education.
  • If you are suggesting a topic you would like to see as an attendee, please write “N/A” in any required field that you are unable to answer. Please include your email address so we may follow up with you if we have questions.
