Andy Robertson has been the band and jazz band director at Redmond High School since 1991, where he has also taught music theory and Leadership. He is a graduate of Pacific Lutheran University and previously taught in the Shoreline and Franklin Pierce school districts. In his years at Redmond, his bands regularly have earned Superior ratings at region festivals, have performed in Carnegie Hall twice and with the Disney Performing Arts program many times. Andy has been recognized with the Redmond PTSA Golden Acorn Award; as Redmond Arts Commission’s Volunteer of the Year, and as the Northlake Region 2010 Outstanding Music Educator. Andy has served as president and as secretary for the Northlake Region, and as the WMEA All-State Concert Band Group Manager for several years. A long-time participant in the Birch Bay Band Workshop, Andy has been on staff as Assistant Conductor since 2016. He has been a percussionist and occasional conductor of the Washington Wind Symphony since 1988, and has played with other area wind bands, jazz bands and orchestras.
