Dale was the director of Fort Vancouver High School Jazz Band, which appeared at the 1968 MENC conference, recognizing jazz for the first time as an integral part of music education. He served at Clark College as band director and music department chair, 1971-82. He was Chairman of the Board of Beacock’s Music.
