Dan served as band conductor in Mukilteo and Chehalis for 30 years, and directed hundreds of Chehalis students on an Eastern United States performance tour. His bands performed at the WMEA state conference in 1998 and 2006. Dan served the Southwest region MEA as president, was co-founder and executive director of the Northwest Wind Symphony and on the teaching staff for the Oregon Ambassadors of Music tour to Europe.
