Between 1945 and 1979, Edward taught band and orchestra in Walla Walla, Puyallup and Hayward, California. He served as coordinator of music for the Bellevue School District from 1967 to1979. As WMEA 2nd vice president he organized the first All-State groups in 1954, and served as WMEA president from 1954 to 1956. He also played first trumpet with the Seattle Symphony, 1939-45.
