Gail received her BA in Music Education/BM in Music Performance and MA from Eastern Washington University. She taught 5th-12 grade orchestra and band in Port Townsend, followed by positions at Gonzaga Prep, Auburn, Medical Lake, Mead, Federal Way, Puyallup and Spokane schools. She is band director at Central Valley’s Bowdish MS, where she student taught. She has been a WMEA conference presenter, and a contest and festival clinician and adjudicator. Her Kalles JHS Concert Band (Puyallup) performed at the 2004 WMEA Conference. Awards include the 2000 Washington State Christa McAuliffe Excellence in Education award; 1997 Federal Way SD Teacher of the Year; 1993 Auburn SD Educator of the Year and 2004 Valley Region Outstanding Music Educator. She has played instruments in the Tacoma Concert Band, trumpet in the Coeur d’Alene Symphony, and flugelhorn, Spokane British Brass Band. She enjoys playing fiddle, gardening, tennis, basketball, time at the lake and taking care of her 97-year-old mom.
