Ken spent his music teaching career in the Everett School District as an instrumental and vocal teacher from 1966 to 1983, and as fine arts supervisor from 1973 to 1997. He served as clinician and guest conductor at jazz clinics throughout the West. He worked for Sound Music as a composer and arranger, and became its publisher in 1998.
