Bill taught music in Bremerton for 14 years, during which time his high school bands received superior ratings. He directed the University of Washington Husky Marching Band for 24 years, with the band making 14 bowl game appearances. In 1981, Bill was co-inventor of “the wave,” along with Robb Weller.
