Jack taught music in the Vancouver School District, where he was named supervisor of music in 1963, and head of the arts department in 1977. He was involved in his community and produced 15 Broadway musicals from 1962-77, and the Miss Washington Pageant for 12 years. He served WMEA as president from 1962 to 1964.
