As a successful grant applicant, you will be eligible to apply for and receive a grant in the 2028-2029 school year. However, if you are interested in participating in the 2026 MANW Play it Forward fundraiser and are selected, you will be eligible to apply for a grant again in the 2027-2028 school year.
Play it Forward will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Triple Door Restaurant in downtown Seattle.
There are two ways to participate:
- Video performance to be shown at Play it Forward.
- In-person performance at Play it Forward.
Application timeline:
March 1 – Deadline to apply (earlier is fine).
March 15 – Applicants will be notified about their status.
March 25 – Deadline for accepted applicants to return online registration form.
Application requirements:
VIDEO PARTICIPATION
Upload a video to this site. It must be in XXX format.
- Minimum performance time: 1 minute, 30 seconds
- Maximum performance time; 3 minutes, 30 seconds.
- Video must utilize equipment purchased through the grant.
IN-PERSON PARTICIPATION
- Upload a video to this site. It must be in XXX format.
- Minimum performance time: 5 minutes.
- Maximum performance time: 15 minutes.
- Video must utilize equipment purchased through the grant
- Your stage entrance and exit must be rapid (maximum one minute each, including equipment), so please select music that will allow quick setup/breakdown.
- The video and performance can include from 1 to 20 participants. If you wish more, please contact George Moffat (ghmoffat@comcast.net) for clearance before submitting your video.
Performance day information and requirements
- Performances will be held Saturday, April 25, 2025, at the Triple Door Restaurant in Seattle.
- There can be one chaperone for every five students.
- The grant applicant can attend in addition to chaperones.
- Performers must arrive by 3:30 PM.
- Each performance will have a run-through/sound check during the afternoon.
- Performers will be done by 9:30 PM.
- A complimentary dinner will be provided for the performers, chaperones and the grant applicant.
- Additional adults can attend the entire evening for a one-half price ticket at $125 (normally $250) if ordered through the applicant.
- Parents beyond the chaperone limit may be able to watch the student performances standing at the back of the auditorium, subject to space available and fire code limits (no guarantees).
PLEASE NOTE: This event occurs the evening of WIAA/WMEA State Ensemble Contest in Ellensburg. Any students participating in LARGE ensembles (afternoon) will be unable to participate at Play it Forward in person. Students participating in SMALL ensembles (morning) will be able to participate conditional to your ensuring they will have transportation back to the Triple Door and will arrive by 3:30 PM. By submitting an application, you are agreeing that if accepted, the submitted students will appear at Play it Forward.
